All glory praise and honor to God the Father and thanksgiving for His providence through Jesus Christ!

We pray our worship uplifts you and leads us all to turn again to Jesus, to strengthen our faith, expand our knowledge and understanding of His Word to embolden us to share our own testimonies our life experiences and the revelation of His love in our lives.  Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.  That’s us.  How in the world has our faith continued and expanded across the globe for so many centuries?  Through sharing our experiences, the stories, the truth, the reality of the works of God in our lives.

Hearing recent testimonies and sharing stories by so many of you is inspiring, truly uplifting.  Sometimes we may think to ourselves, “oh I’ve got nothing to share” (of value) and hesitate.  I can tell you, given the events of this year so far in the life of my family, I can say with all sincerity that everything you’ve shared with us over this tragic period has touched our lives profoundly.  The Love of Christ is like a river, washing over us in times of need and in times of joy.  The network of “clay vessels” carrying the loving waters from Christ to those in need has never quite been so evident to me in all my life.  Clay jars contain/carry water.  I get the impression that ya’ll are more like clay pipes.  Some are very large volume flowing arteries, vessels, and veins down to the tiniest of capillaries all delivering the exact amount of love and compassion to those in need at the concise moment it’s needed.  It’s been amazing, incredible.  The love you’ve shown us has been very real and impactful to me and my family.  We wish to thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of condolences for the tragic loss of our daughter Katerina, the flood of cards, flowers, food, hugs, prayers, kind words of remembrance and your mere presence.  They have sustained us through it all as we face each new day traveling along what will be a long road of grief.  From all the Weikel family, I thank you.

This out-pouring brings a deeper appreciation and gratitude for the love of Christ and what His sacrifice makes possible for us all.  It inspires a greater need to worship Him, sing songs of praise and adoration, to delve into and experience the living Word of the Bible, and a motivation to mediate through prayer on how we are being led to share His love.  Worship.  It is good.  I pray you all are touched by our congregational worship and maybe even as you may be so led as to be an active participant.  The Worship Team deeply desires even more of the congregation to participate in our worship services.  You’ve seen more stepping out in faith to contribute to worship.  Its truly a blessing to us all. We’ve had more people reading scriptures and greeting, and so much more all broadening the impact and experience of our worship as a congregation.  Let me add that your participation doesn’t need to be every week.  So consider it, pray on it, share your gifts and give all glory, honor, and praise to God.

We are so very much looking forward to worship over May and June anticipating the renewal of God’s creation in flowers and trees greening for summer and the coming of beautiful Spring days to come.  We’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day May 14th, Pentecost Sunday on May 28th which is also the Memorial Day weekend Service, and Father’s Day June 18th!  Then, we look forward to our outdoor services on the South-West lawn two Sundays in July and August (weather permitting of course).  The exact dates for these are in the planning stages at the time of this writing.

We continue to gather as a congregation both in person and on-line viewing live on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FRCWalden.  On-line participation in our worship services and Jim’s devotions on Facebook are between 80-100 daily!  Add to that our consistent numbers on FRCWalden Facebook we continue to reach and touch many through our worship.  What a blessing it is to be able to reach out and touch those home bound both far and wide.  We are so grateful for His providence here and wish to thank those who participate in services on-line!  Keep your suggestions coming on how we can improve that on-line worship experience!  We are far from professionals and we make mistakes as we try new things and means of presentations but hey, if you don’t make ANY mistakes….  You’re not trying anything new. : )

We are ever so grateful and give God the glory for everyone who has chosen to attend Sunday Services in person.  With the return of our Time of Fellowship and it’s enhanced offerings after Sunday services of activities for God’s children of all ages and abilities, it is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with others from the congregation and meet newcomers alike!  We encourage you to talk with friends and neighbors.  Invite them to come and experience our worship and fellowship for themselves in a welcoming environment of our sanctuary and Fellowship Hall.

Praise Team

We are having a wonderful and really fun time with Praise Team and our music. If you hear the calling to add to our numbers, by all means, talk to any of us on the Praise Team.  And let us know if you have a song of praise you’d like to have us use!  Your suggestions are very welcome!

Our continued thanks to Bill Freeman, Matt and Kevin Harrington for their continued support of the Praise Team.  God has sought fit to bring us together with our varied and individual gifts which He combines to be much more together than individually.  I thank God for this group, their love of Christ, prayer-filled hearts, and the strength their faith brings to our service.

As a team, we continue to improve and rely on His hand to guide us and build our talents and skills to  glorify his name in praise.  Praise Team meets Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM in Crist Chapel for rehearsals and you are most welcome to stop by and have some fun with us!  Even if you’re not yet comfortable singing or playing in front of the congregation we encourage you to share in the lift in spirit we experience by singing His praises.  There is safety in numbers!
