The choir programs under the capable direction and organization of Bunnie Reichle have continued to provide us with meaingful musical experiences. Kid’s choir and the youth handbell choir have added members and performed several times during the year and, a recently organized teen choir, will sing once a month in this coming year.
The praise team contiues to grow with new and different members under the direction of Joe Weikel. They lead us each Sunday in a praise song or two and for the summer outdoor services they provide all the music to lead us in inspired worship.
The hymn of the month continues to help us grow in our repertoire of worship music. The worship team picks thoughtful hymns which reflect our worship themes and seasonal liturgical calendar. There are copies of the hymn of the month in the back of the sanctuary so you can sing them at home.
The children’s hymn continues to add a special focus for our children each week as part of the children’s message. Michelle Jabobsen lends her talents in the area to help the children learn a new song.
Special music continues to be a strength of our church as many people share their musical abilities. For this year’s Easter service we hired a brass ensemble to help us lead worship and were very blessed by their presence.
On a weekly basis, Bunnie Reichle takes care of the sanctuary arrangements and Vicki Houck helps out with the Hanging of the Greens, Christmas and Easter seasonal arrangements.
Media & Communications
This year the new sound booth was put into service and the slideshows and slide announcements have continued to help the flow of the service.. CD’s are made of each service and are available on request.
During holy week there were meaningful and moving services—Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter. We added an Ash Wednesday service in the early a.m. For the Advent–Christmas season there is the annual Hanging of the Greens and tree lighting, and our two unique Christmas Eve services. This year the Chancel choir will be offering a cantata entitled “Journey of Promises.” Much planning and preparation goes into these special services and we want to thank everyone who helps us. Praise God and bless our congregation.
Acolytes & Ushers
Throughout the year acolytes enrich our service, allowing a special place for our students to serve. The acolytes faithfully bring Christ’s light into our sanctuary and then recess with the light to remind us to go forth and share God’s grace with the world.
Ushers/Greeters continue to provide welcome and hand out our bulletins for every service. The ushers/greeters are led by ‘old faithful’ Ed Kennedy who is always on hand.
